The Hubbard Woods PTO involves parents and teachers working together on behalf of the school and its students.  Parent volunteers help create a strong sense of community, provide support to our teachers and staff, and sponsor programs and activities that enrich our children’s educational experience.

This website highlights the work of the PTO with the aim of helping parents navigate their time at the school and feel connected to the school community.

Hubbard Woods Item

The Item is sent out every two weeks as an e-Newsletter to all HW families and faculty.  Submissions should be sent via email to  Please see The Item schedule for due dates and publish dates.  Any questions should be directed to Erin Donaldson, Vice President for Communications.

Guidelines for Submitting Content to the Item Newsletter or PTO Website:

Our main goal in producing the school newsletter is to make sure the information we provide is relevant, timely, concise, and easily accessible.  To that end, submissions for the newsletter are limited to around 60 words.  Editors reserve the right to make revisions at their discretion provided that primary information is not lost.  Submissions that require more information than can be conveyed within the 60 word limit should include a link to the website for more information. 

How to submit content for The Item e-Newsletter:

  • Address email to
  • Subject line should read “for The Item”
  • Include your submission within the body of your email or as a Word document.  
  • Submissions for the Item should be kept to no more than 50-60 words.  If more detailed information is required we can include a link to the HW PTO website.  Remember, you then need to submit the content for the website following the directions below.
