Frequently Asked Back to School Questions
Q: When will we find out about class placements?
A: The PowerSchool portal will open on August 21st at 4pm for parent notification of student placement. You should have received an email from the District on how to register for the PowerSchool portal. If you did not receive the email, please contact the District Office.
Please note that the PTO has no role in classroom or teacher assignments. All placement decisions are made by school administration.
Q: What Back to School Events should I know about?

8/25: Teacher Meet and Greets (and Meet Interim Principal Castillo-Oh)
Q: When can I order back-to-school supplies?
A: Families do not need to purchase their own school supplies. The PTO purchases all classroom supplies in bulk, which keeps costs down and cuts back on packaging waste.
On Sunday, August 16th, you will receive an email from the PTO with a link to make back-to-school payments which cover school supplies, teacher gifts, Central PTO fee, etc.
Q: When can I sign up to be a Room Parent?
A: You can volunteer to be a classroom parent (2 parents max per classroom) - or - a classroom photographer. This is a great way to peek behind the curtain on all the wonderful things happening in your child's classroom! Please note that parents can only be a room parent for one class/child, per year.

Pizza Fun Lunch is an ongoing PTO fundraiser that allows students to enjoy Domino’s cheese pizza and a side on select Fridays throughout the school year. Pizza Fun Lunch ordering will be streamlined through Marlas Brown Bag Lunch website!
